Wow Typhoon Quinta Blows Into Cebu
Typhoon Hits Cebu Without Warning
Yesterday morning I woke up to a storm and the lights going out. I thought, this looks like a typhoon coming in. I’ve only seen one but the weather just looked different enough that it was not your normal monsoon. Since it has been a drier monsoon season than normal, I reasoned that this is what we should have been getting all along.
To be safe, I asked Jessie to send one of the helpers out to get a newspaper. I thought if there was a storm coming in, we needed to know and could get the information from the paper. While she was out, banana bushes begun to topple and even tress where coming down. The wind was not equal to that of Typhoon Frank but Frank was a major storm. Quinta was likely a category one, though I don’t know.

Bogo City is a Beautiful Northern Provincial City
Bogo City is a beautiful place. I walk nearly every day and almost always take a camera. Bogo City is a fishing community. No, not everyone fishes but a large part of the city uses the sea to make a living. There is a wharf near my home. I don’t really know the name of it, I call it Bogo City Wharf. There is a larger Bogo City Port to our north but I have not been there. It is to far for me to walk.
President Arroyo Inaugurates Bogo City Port
The Port of Bogo has been in the works for nearly a century but work stopped at various times for reasons not known to me. Filipino President Arroyo was present to lead the celebration. The Cebu Daily News (CDN) quoted Bogo City Mayor Celestino Martinez Jr. with the following:
