In the Philippines, one will often see broken glass on top of the walls that surround a business or home. I’ve tried several times to get pictures of this but they never came out clearly. Finally, I got one to come out where the glass can be seen.
Clearly the message is KEEP OUT. A very effective way, the Philippines version of international signage?
I know it is effective because this scene caught my attention too, but I ignored the sign.
I’m not sure what caught my eye that caused me to take and like this photograph but I walked past it and then went back to take the picture. It is a view that is typical Philippines scene. These signs are generally directed at motorized vehicles and not pedestrian. It MAY be a private road that the owners which to keep things quiet. It may also be a public road and the home owners put it up anyway, again to keep the noise down and perhaps a little extra security. Not that any bad guys would pay attention to such a sign. This is also the area where I took the picture of the “little old lady.” I am breaking the pictures up into smaller pages so they wont slow your PC down too much. Trying to keep two or three pictures max on single page. To see the next page in this series, please click Cebu In Pictures.
