More Trouble in Mindanao
A grenade exploded in General Santos yesterday. ANC TV was reporting that the army blamed the Moro Islamic Liberation Front but that organization denied responsibility and condemned the act of killing innocent civilians.
In another incident, a improvised explosive device was detonated destroying a public tricycle and killing the driver. The reports on TV implied it was the work of Moro Islamic Liberation but again that organization denied that.
This is just another in a series of explosive activity in Mindanao. There have been several bombs and there was military action in the last two weeks of December.

i’m retiring to phils in nov. or sooner. i understand that one is required to to exit the country every 59 days to maintain proper visa status. is this true and is there a legal way around this? thanks. any info would be very helpful. joel
Hi Joel,
You don’t have to leave the country every 59 days. You do have to go to immigration every 59 days and get your visa extended. You will have to leave after 16 months but you might be able to get it extended to 24 months.
