Bogo City Wharf at Sunset
I Love the silhouette of the deckhands on this pump boat. They had to stop the boat short as the tide was very low that day and it would have run aground. Set up this beautiful Philippine scene for me. These boatsĀ are used for getting people from one island to another island. However, I’ve seen a truck load of pigs come off them as well.

Hi Rusty and I’ll be over there by December most likely…I have a gf there and she is with me 100%. How you doing over there?
I’m doing very well here. I love it here. A good woman can help a lot with that! You can follow me at http://heyjoe.ph as well. I write over the more often.
Rusty: Am enjoying reading your site. the HK and I are retiring soon maybe near Talisay, south of Cebu.. You’ve provide some good information to anyone thinking or planning the same. HK is getting her dual soon and I’m going for a 13A before we get there. I found you site while surfing for Pumpboats in the PI. that’s one goal for me to acquire a good 20′ +/-
Boat motored with a good sailing rig for no hurry traveling. found a Mike Allen down by Carmen that builds whatever you want, have you heard of him? reliable etc ? took early retirement here before they forced all us “older” guys out the door. The getting money from US to there is still a mystery and so many variables involved, it might be easier to just write checks a month ahead of schedule like a bunch of guys I know over there do. Hey keep up the good work on the site, I’ll be checking in from time to time, heck maybe we’ll bump into each other someday…I don’t want to get in the habit of drinking beer and bitching with other old farts from the US, but will drink coffee anywhere anytime with most anyone !!! take it easy Rusty, later Yockey
No, I’ve not looked into buying a boat, don’t know anything about him. he’s Filipino? I’d likely get one from a Filipino if I were going too do so.
Boat travel can be quite dangerous but a boat would be nice if I knew what I was doing. Perhaps you do? Sounds like it would be a lot of fun. The bad weather would worry me. I’d love to build my own sail boat, a really nice one but I would have a LOT to learn since I’ve never been on one. LOL
There is a Filipino that comes here from time to time that might be able to help you. I’ll send him a text message and see if I can rouse him up.
