Smiling Pinoy in Jail
On one of my longer walks around Bogo City, I came upon the Bogo City Jail. As I started to take a picture I
noticed there were inmates within and they wanted their picture taken. The result is the picture above.
Filipino are known for being warm and friendly, something I can say for certain is true. Often, Filipino seem a bit shy or even leery but once I make an effort to be friendly it is met with much warmth. They always return big happy smiles, often with less than perfect smiles.
When I saw the people in the jail, I was surprised to see that happening here as well. True, not all of them were smiling. At least one appeared to be staring out to for help. That would be next to impossible. Filipino are a proud people and the last thing they want is a foreigner meddling in their affairs even if I did know anything about a situation. I have no desire to meddle in such affairs.
From Filipino children to adults, every where I go in the Philippines, I’m met with smiling people. The people here are warm and want to interact with me and I want to interact with them.

According to the online local newspaper, these prisoners were bolted from jail and re-captured for a couples of hour.:)
Nel, if you check all the papers, you’ll see all kinds of different information. Some put the escape on Thursday, others put it on Sunday. I believe the man killed was on Tuesday but there are a lot of different stories. Some say four escaped some say six.
What I know is some people escaped and one man was killed on re-capture.

Took quite a few pictures last month. I recently started using Linux as my OS so I can’t use my photo program that I have been using on my PC. I have to get everything moved over to Jessie’s machine.
I took a lot of pictures at the local church. I think I’m going to make that a hobby of mine, taking pictures of churches in the philippines.

jst for a little clarification, d inmates bolted the Bogo Police Station (PNP) lockup jail, not Bogo City JAIL.
I wondered if it was from the location I took a picture of or not. I’m not 100% sure if I know where that is. I think I do. Down by the hospital? I walked down that way once.
I’ve walked by the Bogo City Jail many times. I love the picture, I’ve used it often.
