Orchids Just Outside My Home!
I took this photograph just outside my Cebu home in Bogo City. Cebu is the Province and Island that Bogo City is located in. Cebu City is about 80Km to the south, probably a little less than that.
This flower is growing on barbwire and I love the irony of that. Reminds me of the guns and roses idea. But it is so like life. Beauty is surrounded by danger in many cases. That the barbwire is rusted just adds to this theme.
I would love to hear your comments so register and login and add your comment to this article or to any other. This orchid appears to be growing wild but it may have been planted by my Filipino neighbor.

Am so glad that a foreign resident took time to capture some of the interesting flora found in almost Filipino gardens – the orchid. Being an insular country isolated by two bodies of oceans – the South China Sea and the Pacific – the Philippines is actually home to many orchids – terrestrial and arboreal – with many of them endemic to the archipelago.
I’ve got a collection of endangered orchids and seashells at home…
Thank you, Mr. Joe Expat for taking time to appreciate the beauty of our country…
