Philippine Pictures for the Month Of October 2008
Photos While Living In Cebu
As I walk around the Philippines, mostly around the city of Bogo, I keep my camera strapped around my neck just about every where I go. When I forget to take it, that’s when I’ll see a dog in a tree (yes it happened a few months ago) or a guy walking around with a bed on his head.
So I try to take it where ever I go. Besides, the more pictures you see, the better you learn to see. Much of Photography is learning to see something interesting where others see only the mundane. The more one practices the better they get at it.
Have you ever watched a professional work? They take tons of photos but they keep only a few. I probably keep too many but then I’m trying to capture more than light and shadows and color, I’m trying to capture my life. To see the Cebu Photos from October click here.
You have caught some interesting shots there Rusty, I use 3 Sony camera’s myself, DSC-F707 DSC-H5 and my new DSC-W300 which is now my pocket carry everywhere camera which is great when travelling. I usually keep less than 10% of shots I take, and of those usually post process most using Photoshop Elements.

Hi Ian,
Thanks! My camera’s are old. I’m very likely to buy a Nikon or Canon EOS Xsi at the first opportunity. I’m pretty much anti-debt, but I’ll likely get one of those as soon as I can, even if I have to charge to get it. I have not studied the Nikon models as much but they recently released one that competes with the Canon SLRs. I’m not really concerned about keeping it small, I want the best I can get my hands on. In fact, I may leave the pro-consumer models and really spend some money on a professional level but I probably will never be able to afford that. I really want to upgrade my camera. I’m not familiar with the model numbers you show above. The Mavica was state of the art when I bought it but things change in the digital world these days.
I like my pictures much more about a year after I take them. Sometimes I’m impressed to find out I took it. LOL
Thank you so much Rusty for the awesome photos!
Nel, no, instead I thank you for your participation Nel! It is my pleasure but your welcome all the same.
