Dengue Fever Still Killing In The Philippines
The number of cases of dengue fever have doubled in Manila. In Cebu there is good and bad news, the number of cases are down by nearly a third but the deaths from the illness has nearly doubled with 76 deaths, 33 within Cebu City.
The recent death of a toddler there sparked new alerts and reminding people to make sure there is no standing water that provides a place for them to breed. Of course, a person can do every thing right and others around them don’t and mosquitoes breed. And of course, mosquitoes just happen.

Cebu City Plagued with Dengue Fever Deaths
Cebu City recently saw the death of a three year old little girl. The number of dengue cases in Cebu has fallen by nearly a third. Down from over 1500 to just over 1000 so far this year. But the number of deaths in the city has risen dramatically.

Dengue Fever cases, similar to encephalitis, are on the rise in the Philippines. Over all the increase is 43% but Manila is seeing a much higher increase. It is being blamed on global warming. I’m beginning to think global warming is a catch all for CYA. I’m not buying that.
